The site’s problem
The MES was expanding to new buildings and the site’s MES team needed reinforcement. More people were needed to manage master data, update recipes and help users. And someone was needed at night and at weekends, because when the MES stops, production stops.
What we do
Our consultants are part of the site’s MES team, alongside the client’s administrators. Together, they manage items, equipment and workflows. They change recipes, run the tests and train key users. They also carry out access reviews and data checks. Requests come from the site’s daily needs and from corrective and preventive actions, the CAPAs.
One of our consultants holds the Business System Owner role. She is accountable for the system to quality assurance. In practice, she approves specifications, reviews test scripts before and after execution, and reviews and approves installation qualifications in production. In this organisation, she is not the one who decides which changes go into production.
Several consultants take part in the site’s on-call arrangements, at night and at weekends.
What it delivered
Around thirty production releases a year, split between master data and MES changes. New items, new equipment, modified recipes, actions arising from CAPAs. The assignment continues.
